The National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP) is a global training company that provides quality domestic abuse and sexual assault training to build safer communities. NICP's mission is to provide law enforcement, victim advocates, judges, prosecutors, military personnel, educators, and public health workers quality training regarding domestic violence and sexual assault issues that affect victims’ day to day lives. The NICP instructors have a diverse background of specialties and have been nationally recognized as experts in their fields. Eddie C. Farrey, MA will be facilitating on behalf of NICP. The UT Law Enforcement Innovation Center (LEIC) is an agency of the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service. LEIC expands capabilities of law enforcement personnel by providing training that improves the quality of policing. Using the nation’s best instructors and consultants, LEIC develops curricula for courses that can be delivered nationwide. The mission of the LEIC is to provide innovative, current and applicable training and assistance to law enforcement professionals and the communities they serve. Spc. The topics of discussion that have been chosen for this training are dynamic, relevant, and have been determined beneficial and necessary to fill the gaps in currently available training opportunities in our area. Many meetings were held with local service agencies, law enforcement, and court personnel to formulate the agenda. The topics that will be discussed include: The Impact of Fear on Memory, Do Orders of Protection Work?, Strangulation, Lethality Assessment Program (LAP Model), Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault, and Due Process.
Cost to attend is FREE for those residing in or working in Monroe County, Tn or $30 for all others. Pre-registration is required.
