Why We Dance: Originally the ‘Me and My Guy Dance’, the Monroe STOPe is planned anually as a domestic violence awareness, education, and crime reduction/prevention effort. STOPe emphasizes the importance of promoting healthy father-daughter relationships and educating our community on the necessity of safe parental involvement.
Statistics show that high levels of father involvement are correlated with sociability, confidence and high levels of self-control; which are empowering characteristics and beneficial when it comes to making good choices and setting standards/boundaries in both current & future relationships. It has further been proven that children who have engaged, positive, male role-models are less likely to act out in school or engage in risky behaviors as adolescents.
This wonderful event has been made possible by Monroe STOPe, the Monroe County Health Council, the Prevention & Wellness Coalition & various partners and sponsors since 2015!

Registration is required to attend the dance; limited tickets are available. Each couple/duo/group will only need ONE ticket.
